I've been a quilter since 1984. The first time I saw a longarm on a TV program, I knew one day I'd have one. My determination deepened as I hand quilted my creations. I just wasn't getting enough done. My ideas were piling up along with my quilting material stash. In May of 2005, I decided I'd waited long enough , and I purchased an APQS Millennium. My journey into the "longarm world" has been fascinating and continues to this day.

I hope this website will simplify the process of longarm quilting as you consider how to complete your quilt top, whether it be with me or another longarmer. I find customers sometimes hesitate to show their quilt top because they're not "perfect". It doesn't need to be. I don't think I've seen a perfect quilt top yet. I, in fact, am still working on making the perfect quilt top. That may never happen.

JJ's LongArm Machine Quilting.

What does help the longarmer is to have backing that is at least 4 inches larger all the way around the quilt top. And to do your best not to have wavy borders, as trying to take up the fullness can be daunting. And I want to make your quilt as pretty as it can be.

Three things we will consider when viewing your quilt top. 1) What design you want on the quilt. Whether it be custom or a pantograph. 2) What kind and color of thread. 3) What kind of batting. I provide all of these for you. Or - as some of my customers say; surprise me.

So finish those unfinished projects, and start some new ones. Happy Quilting, Julayne

Be kind to your longarmer !
